Today’s pitch count is 3.

  1. Make sure that you set your fantasy drafts next year well into Spring Training. I always think that seeing most of Spring Training is a good idea before drafting your fantasy team. It allows you to watch for injuries, nab promising rookies and stay on top of pitching rotations. However, the most pressing reason to wait until late is to avoid drafting players who will be hit with a first time offense, 50-game suspension because thay are on the Mitchell Report, MLB’s internal investigation into baseball’s steroid use.
  2. There are many fantasy implications to the 5 player trade between the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies that included Brad Lidge and Michael Bourne as the key pieces. It’s going to allow Brett Myers to re-enter the starting rotation while Lidge closes games. It’s also could allow speedster Bourne the ability to play on a more regular basis, thus truly showing everyone what a monster base stealer he can be.
  3. I’ve done a lot of talking about the Arizona Fall League this off-season. I just found a post that looked at the All-Time AFL All-Star lineup.
