[tag]Alex Gordon[/tag] was officially named the [tag]Kansas City Royals[/tag] third basemen yesterday. There has been a ton of hype around Gordon this spring. Now he has to prove he was worth the hype.
John Sickels, over at Minor League Ball, thinks Gordon can out up some HOF’ish type numbers over the next 18 years, as he’s projected the third baseman’s numbers all the way out to 2024.
“This projection may seem optimistic, but I fully believe that he can do this if he stays healthy long enough. Think a cross between George Brett and Mark Teixeira.”
Now that Gordon has been named the KC starter, I am interested in seeing if his Average Draft Position spikes up a bit. Up until now, although everyone was pretty sure Gordon would be the fixture at 3B, nobody was certain. Now that he’s been announced I’m going to watch to see if his 208.31 ADP (18th round 5X5 mixed) climbs at all.

big time projections by Sickels. wow. even for 2007, Sickels’ crystal ball has Flash in the high end. i hope he’s right, since i landed Flash in a keeper league.
[my prediction] accounting for keeper inflation, ADP = 113
5×5 mixed, ADP = 153
Baseball America puts Flash at #2 top 2007 prospects, ahead of Delmon
i wonder what Flash did on ProTrade today….
